Library Catalog Library catalog on the computer

A library catalog is a searchable list of everything the library owns. Each library has its own catalog. The catalog will point you to the location of a particular item that the library owns on your topic. Since every library collection is unique, every catalog is also unique.

Use the Catalog

  • to find out what items the library owns on your topic
  • to find where a specific item is located in the library

Where is the Catalog?

  • At Peirce, you must come to the library to search the Catalog. We have designated computers that are used just for searching the Catalog.
  • At many institutions, however, the Catalog is available on the Web, so you can search it from anywhere
